Imagination

Just had my bottle of wine, so my imagination is flying...

If I was granted a wish tonight to transfer my life to anywhere else in the world, where would I be?
Come on this little journey in my intoxicated mind.

"Beep! Beep! Beep! The alarm clock screams incessantly as I reached out my lazy arms to hug my absolute favourite person in this world lying next to me...a certain Lyons who has moved halfway around the world to be with me. 5 am, the clock read as I rubbed the last bits of sleep off my dreary eyes to embrace another day in this perfect life of mine. I need to really wake up now, otherwise the delivery truck carrying all the produce I have ordered for the next 2 days will be really pissed at me! As I tear myself away from my warm bed, Lyons beings to stir, signalling the dissolution of the last remnants of his dreams. Pacing through my morning ritual of shittin, shavin and showering like a seasoned pro, I proceeded to wolf down my breakfast of kaya (coconut jam) toast and Teh C, my only reminder of the typical breakfast I used to have in my hometown. Kissing Lyons on the forehead just before I walk out the door, I wondered what I have done in my last life to deserve this picture perfect lifestyle unfolding right in front of me.

I am Martyn Wong, sole proprietor of a wildly successful Asian styled cafe chain raking in annual profits in excess of $20 million a year. With nary a worry about where I will be having my next meal, if I'll be able to pay off my next credit card bill or not owning any property at my age (I have 5 properties, 3 of which have been fully paid off).

As I pore over offers to expand my operations into Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, someone opens my door....

In walks Matthew Lyons, Director of Marketing, with two packed lunches, one in each hand.
" Fried Kway Teow for lunch?" he asks....

Can life get better than a fried kway teow lunch paired with cask Chardonnay overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge?"

I can dream, can't I?
