I am now on a plane as we speak to fetch my mail order bride/groom from Perth. Yes, we have decided it is finally time to consummate our relationship in the land of lah. Its been a long 21 months, and as the formulation goes, 1 day apart is equivalent to 10 years of longing, so I have been longing for M for about 6510 years now, so that makes me an immortal. Bitch please, I don’t wanna be one of those pasty kiddie vampires from Twilight, maybe transfer Jacob’s body to me but keep my face, I like my face….Anyways, am digressing, must be the effects from the wonderful combination of the pressurised cabin and the classy canned wine I am imbibing.
Back to the trip. Yes, its been a while, and not soon enough. All this was decided about 6 months ago (yes, we’re Taureans and we need to plan ahead) that we could no longer live apart. The emotional upheavals, while getting less intense with more time spent apart, was also becoming a source of worry as we were worried that the intensity of our love for each other was fading. Now before any of you jump to conclusions, I am not having a 7 year itch affair, and M does not have a Thai third party stowed away in the outskirts of Bangkok. We are both still very much in love. We saw this more as a natural progression of our relationship, one filled with a new sense of resurgent feelings and new adventures. Perth has given me a nice, cool home away from home, somewhere where I could have fun, relax and get away from the heat. Singapore, despite its long working hours is good for work, as I was lucky to have a working environment that is both progressive and fun.
However, something was still missing. The welcoming look of your partner after a long tiring day. The shared frustrations over glasses of wine. The mini dates of a simple meal and movie on the weekend. Little things which mean a lot and are irreplaceable. But I’m certainly glad I will no longer be doing these things on my own (yes, I do talk to myself sometimes). I am sure M will enjoy Singapore. M’s been to Singapore at least 6 times now anyways. Yes, it may be a little different working here compared to having holidays, but I’m sure we’ll make something good out of it.
We always do.
