Once upon a time, there lived two princes(ses) in the busy kingdom of Singapore. Singapore had everything, cheap food, good transport, good shopping and good people. But the two princes wanted more. They wanted some peace and quiet, something they could never find in Singapore.

So one early morning, they secretly left the grand palace while the Queen was still fast asleep and paid a boatman to take them away from Singapore!
Alas, along the way, their tiny boat capsized and the two princes had to swim to the nearest island they could see!
It was a very tough and arduous swim, but fortunately, there were stops along the way where they could have a rest if they needed.

Prince Ang Mo Kio has always been the stronger one amongst the two. He did not find the 1 hour swim difficult at all. After the swim, he even found the time and energy to make sure he got in some sight seeing photos on this deserted island.

Prince
Toa Payoh, however, was struggling with every stroke and when he did finally haul himself out of the water, there wasn't very much else he could do except to put some clothes on.

The important thing was both of them arrived on the island safe and sound (and in style for some)

The two princes started exploring the island. The people there were very strange, they were standing around, asking us if we needed anything, offering us drinks, taking our bags for us....This was not something the two shipwrecked princes had expected at all. The best thing was, they used Singapore money to exchange for services and food, you didn't even have to look for or grow your own.

Prince
Ang Mo
Kio used his last few Singapore dollars to buy some food from the villagers. The villagers also offered Matt some golden coloured beverage they called Bier. It was very nice, and it must have been magical because they both felt very happy after that.

Having filled his big big stomach, Prince
Toa Payoh was very happy with the villagers and decided bestow this village the title of "designated royal village" affiliated to the Kingdom of Singapore. He named the village "
Oleh Oleh Village" due to the sporting nature of its inhabitants.

Both princes were very very happy with this remote island and had learnt many things on the island along the way. But all good things had to come to an end. The Queen of Singapore found out the two princes had escaped and sent out a massive search party. The two princes were eventually found on this island but refused to go back to Singapore. In the ensuing struggle, both princes were accidentally speared by the Queen's guards. As blood gushed from their bodies and flooded the island, it was transformed into a glittering five star resort. And in honour of the princes, the islanders named it Nirvana Resort but because they were not educated, they couldn't spell so it turned out to be
Nirwana Gardens Resort instead.

Legend has it that if you manage to pluck a coconut from the island, drink its nectar, and close your eyes, you can still hear the two princes frolicking in the water....
THE END
