The Heat Is On!

Bangkok is officially the hottest and most humid place in the world. How anyone can survive without airconditioning, let alone walk for four whole hours the sauna maze that is Chatuchak market is beyond me.
Well, I guess the only reason would be that money goes a long long way around here....Been here for 3 days, and only spent about $200 Aud so far, including all food, transport, shopping (my suitcase is getting full...) which is bloody good considering I'd spend that over a weekend in Sydney.
Here's some examples of typical prices
  • 2 bottles of Smirnoff Black from 7-11 : AUD$3.50
  • 45 minute ride from the airport to hotel : AUD$16
  • 5 course Thai dinner for 4 (with the best ever Tom Yum Goong I've had sinces ages ago, once you've had it here, absolutely nothing in Sydney compares, ring of fire experience the morning after is a small sacrifice for it) :AUD$20
We could really live like Queens here.
I would really love to stay and chat but my eyes are in auto shut mode after walking around Chatuchak market for four hours in the sweltering heat. There is also this very excitable Thai boy playing with some interlinked computer game next to me who's giving me the shits.
I shall provide more details of our trip within the next few days when we get to Hanoi cos apparently there is internet in every room.
Goodbye for nowZzzzzz.......

And we're off!

Geezz, its been so long since I've blogged and I've actually forgotten my login. Thankfully I remembered at the last minute, otherwise this blog will be as good as dead.

Bloody mad rush today, have a 16 item to do list at work before I depart and 6 hours to finish it. And I must proudly announce that I finished it all, or at least palmed it off to some innocent assistant....I feel so much like the Prada Devil. Now just in case you think I am actaully liking my job again, I don't. Its still shit. Now because I am such a responsible perfect human being, I just couldn't leave on a holiday without finishing things off. Plus I don't want to come back to 600 aggressive emails. Now I can legally fuck off and leave them to their devices. For 2 half weeks at least.

Matt just got pulled up by customs at the airport in a very Border Security moment. Partly my fault, I put some nuts (4 kg to be exact) in his bag as mine was too heavy, and he got into trouble cos they thought it was fish roe. It must be strange for a Caucasian to be pulled up for food, cos its usually the Asians who are good at smuggling food items across borders. He's safe now, and we are minutes away from sipping our Singapore Slings while you mere mortals toil away at your desk....yes I mean you Kelvin....

Ok, almost time to check in now, got a few busy days ahead of us....I should be updating pretty often, whether we'll get photos in or not is another story....

Thanks for your lovely message Hao. Feels great to have a massive fan base from the other side of the world. I've only really known what it feels like to be famous in Australia.
