Non Stop Weekend (Do not read if you are thinking of going to Sculptures By The Sea!!!!)

Finally, the weekend is over! I'm telling you, this weekend has been the busiest this whole year, having to fit in three major "events" within a space of 72 hours. (Update : by the time I posted this, another weekend has passed. Just for the more "technical" ones amongst youse.....)
The first event was kind of unplanned. One of our friends gave us some tickets to go to Bob Downe's show. For those of you not familiar with the Australian comedy scene, Bob Downe is known as the Prince of Polyester, flamboyant, camp and cheesy male entertainer who likes singing other people's songs with his own lyrics. Of course his show was brilliant, but it also unearthed a gem of a female comedian Jackie Loeb, who did a fantastic repertoire of all the songs ever written in under 4 minutes. And trust me, there were many many songs squeezed into those 4 minutes.
Here's some photos of the Polyester Prince so you get an idea what I'm talking about.....

The next day, we had a sort of quiet afternoon as we prepared ourselves for Nelson's birthday. He planned for drinks and then to ARQ, an exclusive men only nightclub. I can't even remember the last time I went to ARQ, must have been about 2 years ago. Age had a lot to do with it, plus the only mind altering herbs I have now is Earl Grey tea, I don't seem to fit in there anymore....

It was the same thumping music, hard shiny glistening bodies against the mandatory show pole, people smiling for no reason, bored beautiful girls with their fagbags around their arms....exactly the same as it was two years back...very unprogressive, but strangely comforting....we left at 2am, which is very very untypical of Grandpa Lyons and Grandpa Wong.

Then the next morning, it was off to Sculptures By The Sea....Ben you should know this, you saw this when you were here in Sydney last time....heard a rumour that this could be the last year it will be held at Bondi...they are moving to Cock Or Two Island, which is a real piece of shit for an exhibition as fantastic as this.....This is the most accessible art exhibition and they are moving it to an inaccessible island....very smart.....

Now I spent about 45 minutes loading all these photos up, so I don't think I have anymore energy to type in my smart arse lines for each pic. So just enjoy and stop fucking complaining....Geez my mouth is foul tonight.......

Ahhh...Bondi beach on a beautiful Sunday afternoon...am gonna miss this...

This is a funny one. A homeless man living amongst the rocks. Everyone thought he was part of the exhibition and some even asked him about his 'work" Haha...so embarrassment.....

A smudged man. Reminds me of what you can do with your pictures in Photoshop.
Its a bit disappointing there was only one sculpture in the water. There were more in the past years and they were really fantastic. This was somewhat subtle and insipid.

Ok, I've had enough of blogging today....God, my pictures are all over the place....its so difficult to format......Arrggghhh.......
